Blurmi (“模糊的我” in Chinese, meaning “the blurry me”) was born from a simple observation: the modern internet is loud. Every platform competes for your attention with increasingly aggressive tactics. There are very few places online that are simply quiet.
We built Blurmi to be that quiet corner. A place where you don't need to perform, don't need to optimize, don't need to be your best self. You can just be, and read a short story that meets you exactly where you are.
Our Philosophy
Most emotional wellness content tries to fix you. It offers advice, motivation, frameworks, and checklists. We think there's a different kind of healing that comes from simply being seen.
A micro-story about loneliness doesn't tell you to make more friends. It sits beside you in your solitude and says, quietly: this feeling is real. Others have been here too.
We believe that stories are not content to be consumed. They are mirrors. You don't come to Blurmi to read stories. You come to see yourself reflected in them.
What We Offer
- Micro-stories: 300-500 word literary fiction, organized by emotional state (anxiety, loneliness, burnout, and more). New stories published regularly.
- Emotional Quotes: Curated quotes that resonate with specific feelings and moments.
- Emotional Traces: A private space to leave your reactions and annotations on stories, building a personal emotional archive over time.
- Curated Collections: Hand-picked story collections around each emotional theme, with editorial introductions.
The Name
Blurmi comes from the Chinese phrase “模糊的我”, “the blurry me.” It's a nod to the fact that our emotions are rarely sharp-edged. They overlap, bleed into each other, resist categorization. We don't need to have everything figured out to deserve a space to feel.
